Description
Email: <[email protected]> Indorama Kokand Fertilizers and Chemicals JSC is one of the oldest fertilizer facility in Uzbekistan & CIS Countries which was established in 1935. The plant was started initially as a bulk blending plant with Technical support from GLAVAZOTA People's Commissariat of Heavy Industry. The initial range of products were organic-fertilizer blends. Thereafter this became a basis for production of mineral fertilizers (superphosphate ammoniated in dried and granulated form) from rock phosphate deposit of "Tashkura" Kyzylkum phosphorite plant in Uzbekistan. Superphosphate plant was constructed in 1941 to enhance the availability of mineral fertilizers for domestic farming requirements in Uzbekistan. Production capacity of plant was 250,000 MT per annum of ammoniated Single Super Phosphate. In wartime, factory worked to produce defense related products. In January 1942, the plant began to produce explosive dinamon "F". The release of this matter lasted until 1945. The site went through commissioning and de-commissioning of a number of production facilities during its life and currently has active production of ammoniated super single phosphate, medical grade oxygen, paint plant and a fire extinguisher powder plant. The site currently occupies about 30 ha and is nestled in the centre of the historical city of Kokand, which was the seat of rule for the Kokand Khanate an Uzbek state in Fergana Valley of Central Asia, that existed from 1709-1876 within the territory of eastern Uzbekistan, modern Kyrgyzstan, eastern Tajikistan and south eastern Kazakhstan. In the year 2019, the government of Uzbekistan initiated a privatization program under which Indorama Corp. acquired 95.54% of government stake and launched a complete modernization and turnaround program. The plant restarted in the Q1 2021 with a capacity of 350,000 tons of Ammoniated Single Super Phosphate. Additionally, WSF, NPK, SOP & Ammonium Chloride is also being produced.
