Description

Located in the province of Nor Lípez in the Department of Potosí, Minera San Cristobal S.A. is the most important mining undertaking of Bolivia. In our operations, we combine the use of state-of-the-art technology with a constant qualification of our workers, a strict control of industrial and occupational health and safety, environmental preservation and social commitment to the communities. We aim to contribute to development of the region where we operate, the Department of Potosí and the country as a whole. San Cristóbal ranks as one of the largest deposits of zinc, lead and silver in the world. It is a low-grade but bulk mineable deposit, which is why the open-pit method is used. The operation focuses on the production of zinc-silver and lead-silver mineral concentrates. At present, it is the largest mining operation in the history of Bolivia. Vision: To be a world‐class Bolivian mining company. Mission: Develop a model mining operation through safe operations, at low cost, with innovative technology, with social commitment and respect for the environment, that creates value to the shareholders, the employees, the region in which it operates and the country. The most important mining project of Bolivia with an approximate investment of 1.8 billion dollars. These funds have been used in exploration works, a feasibility study, environmental studies, project engineering, preparation of the mine, construction of the plant and the supporting infrastructure, working capital, sustaining capital and financial expenses. With regard to infrastructure, today more than 200 kilometers of roads and bridges and a railway branch of 65 kilometers ensure better connections of the communities to the region, the Department of Potosí and the country.
