Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) has been sponsored by Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys Association of Pakistan, Karachi. It was set up through the Sindh Government Ordinance No. XII of 1993 dated 6th October, 1993 and the Charter granted by Governor of Sindh on 8th October, 1993. The Act was passed by the provincial Assembly of Sindh on 17th September, 1995 and assented by Governor of Sindh on 16th October 1995, and published in the Gazette as "Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology, Act 1995 - Sindh Act No. X of 1995." The prospects for employment of graduates from this University are bright in view of their expected quality education and training. Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology can, it meets the challenges of self reliance in scientific research and development. The most attractive part of the development scheme of the new campus, is the establishment of the IT- Park associated with the university. This generates a very useful interaction between industry and research sector, resulting in quick resolution of industry problems and speedy growth in industrial sector. The IT Park shall also provide opportunities to students to train themselves as technologist of the highest caliber. The Park would be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities like wireless LAN/WAN, VSAT, video conferencing, disaster recovery sites, R&D labs, Tele-Medicine, IT incubation center, training institutes, and a global data center.
