The organization Prime Initiative for Green Development (PIGD) is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria as a non-political, non-profit making and non- governmental organization, with a mission to champion the effort of eradicating environmental hazards by creating Environmental sustainability awareness on Climate Change thereby, mitigating the effect of climate change on the vulnerable populace. Prime Initiative for Green Development also carry out numerous campaigns, advocacies and projects on Human rights, Gender Equality, Youth Engagements and Empowerment. Prime Initiative for Green Development (PIGD) has an observer status with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). PIGD also have consultative status with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
